On August 10th 1954, a sod-turning ceremony took place both in Cornwall Ontario and in Massena New York, that symbolize both an end and new beginning. It marked the official start of two incredible constructions projects; the International St. Lawrence Seaway and Power Project. It also meant the disappearance of 6 villages and 3 hamlets which lay in the waters path. These became known as "the Lost Villages".

During our 90 minute documentary we will explore areas of the 20,000 acres that were submerged under 90 feet of water in 1958. We will look at how the river and land topography changed, and how it continues to evolve. For many this will be a return home to their birthplace and ancestral lands that they can never set foot on again.
